Another Boring Map Set is a mod for registered Wolfenstein, made by Thomas Weiling with coding changes by AlumiuN. It was released on December 21, 2020.
Description[]
The mod contains 60 full levels, Thomas' first since Victory of Faith to contain such an amount. Coding changes include new enemies, extra added music chunks, wall textures, sprites, sounds and more fancy features such as God mode and teleportation, the latter of which was a first for Thomas. Brand-new status bar letter/number design was also featured, utilizing Hobo BT, a favorite font of Thomas.
The new music was based on Gentle Giant songs and music from Bio Menace, which AstroCreep edited to fit. Beta testing chores were handled by Gerolf.
Storyline[]
Though no storyline is included, all bosses from Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny appear, scattered throughout the mod, some more than once. Level 60, the final level, features all bosses under one roof, with each area they are located in depicting their original environment as found in their original Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny maps. As such, the mod is meant as a slightly surreal non-reliable narrator retelling of each original base game's stories.
Genesis[]
The mod started in the beginning stages of COVID-19 lockdown, and the bulk of the mod was made during that time. Over the summer and fall of 2020, the remaining maps were finished off. From the get-go, the mod was meant to depict light and shade, hence some of the maps being rather short and compact and others much more spacious, challenging ordeals.
