Cover of Darkness is a mod for registered Wolfenstein, made by Liso1 & Mek. It was released on December 1, 2007.
Genesis[]
The mod had originally been released as a 1-level demo on August 12, 2007 by Liso1. This demo featured many of the graphics that would feature in the full version, inspired by Majik Monkee's ROTT guards and a slight influence from DOOM and Richter Belmont's hi-res weapons. The 1-level demo features a unique map slightly inspired by E1M1 that did not feature in the final, full version. Also, the title screen was different.
The demo featured a different title screen.
Description[]
All 60 maps were based on an earlier set by Mek, Wolfenstein 3D - Mek's Version. Some timestamps in the overview maps allude to this fact, also suggested that some of these date all the way back to 2002. This particular set never made its way to the Wolfenstein 3D Dome, however. Some of the maps bear a similarity to the Wolfbel sets. Coding changes include increased health and ammo and changed ceiling colors.
