DOOM (Also known simply as Doom) was id Software's game that followed in the wake of Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny. The game inspired a large following of its own, with its action-packed, demon-bashing and fast gameplay standing the test of time just as well - if not more - than Wolfenstein.
Following its release, several art patches were made to implement its graphics into Wolfenstein, such as The Doom Patch and Doomenstein. Additionally, plenty of stand-alone Wolfenstein 3D mods were inspired by the game or use some of its resources; including the enemies, the music and the weaponry. Notable standouts include AReyeP's 2000 mod WolfenDOOM, Insurrectionman's Doom: Legions of Hell, and KFH Games' Klooni.
