Dungeons of Death is a map set for shareware Wolfenstein, released in August 1993. Authorship is unknown, though a well-written Read Me is included. The author simply wished to remain unknown out of fear of rebuttal from id Software.

The set was posted on the Wolfenstein 3D Dome on June 9, 2000. It had been located by Paul Gibson.

Design[]

The set features ten maps, all of which feature close to the allotted 149 guards. This apply to all skill levels, and this particular situation is also referred to in the Read Me, where the author mistakenly names skill 1 as the rather Freudian "Don't Hurt Me, Daddy". Level 9, the final level, is particularly nasty, featuring a huge maze and a floodgate-like set of doors near its edge, from which all 147 guards are unleashed into the maze.

Hans Grosse, sometimes more than once, is featured on all levels bar one; interestingly, the only level in which he is not featured is the aforementioned level 9.
