Escape From Castle Holle is a mod made by Dean Horton. It was released on December 3, 2007.

Description[]

The mod features 31 levels; Levels 1-27 are regular levels with 28-31 being secret. The mod fuses influences from Spear Resurrection with classic Wolfenstein, while also having a fair share of unique graphics. Some graphics were borrowed from Totengraeber; others came from WSJ. The final boss is Adolf Hitler. There was however also room for spoofs and humor; AReyeP's Australian rules football helicopters from CIGWolf make an appearance, and Hans Grosse spoofs a mohawk haircut.

Contributions[]

Tricob contributed level 20, while Thomas Weiling contributed levels 13 and 29.

Versions[]

A 10-level demo had originally been released on April 16, 2006. The full version was originally released on December 3, 2007, a revised version was released almost three weeks later. This corrected a handful of floor code bugs, had some changes made to its intermission art as well as removal of holowalls, a feature that went more out of fashion throughout the 2000's. This version replaced the December 3 version.

On June 19, 2011 a revised version was released which squashed a bug on level 2 that affected certain machines. This version replaced the former version. An SDL port was supposedly in the works during the early 2010's, but an actual release never came into fruition.

Efchdem

The demo version featured a different title screen.
