Japanstein was a Wolfenstein 3D project that was announced on the Wolfenstein 3D Dome news on June 23, 2000 by brothers Paul C. & Peter C. They stated that instead of taking on Nazi Germany, action instead took place in WWII-era Japan. On August 20, 2000 they announced that ten levels had been finished for the project, courtesy of Peter, and that his brother Paul had finished all graphics.
No news were heard on the project again until December 24, 2000 where Paul hinted that he hoped to finish the set over the Christmas break. This proved to be the final signs of life of the project.
