The SDL version was announced as being in progress on November 20, 2010. Shortly after this, it was decided to curtail DOS availability, as Codetech84 felt it cluttered the engine. A parallel discussion was also started in terms of custom map making, as Klooni had already seen some custom map sets released. July 16, 2011 saw the first public release of the SDL port, dubbed v1.3 beta. Over the next few months, the beta was updated before the final stable release was released on March 17, 2012.
Yet another map set for the mod was later put together by Serpens, entitled Earth Anomaly.

Klooni is a mod for registered Wolfenstein, made by KFH Games. It was released on December 8, 2007.

Genesis[]

Started in September 2006, the mod reached the finishing stages in late 2007. The outline of the mod is basically to recast DOOM in the Wolfenstein 3D engine.

Features[]

All resources from DOOM are more or less intact, including doors opening vertically and the variety in enemy behavior. Along with some other features, these were put together in collaboration with Ripper. All graphics, sounds and music have been replaced as well as the palette. All graphics are now in high resolution. Of the more advanced features, automap has been implemented, together with interchangeable eye level, the screen melting away upon player death and many other true-to-life DOOM features.

Technical description[]

60 new levels are featured, played in episodic flow. To play Klooni, one must include a DOOM WAD file in the game folder.

Versions[]

The original version was released in December 2007. On May 23, 2008, a fixed version appeared with the following:

 • Fixed Cacodemon respawning and resurrection
 • Fixed bug when Arch-Vile would turn to face another target while it's attacking another
 • Lost soul attack can now be stopped by shooting at it (Doom)
 • Fixed entry to secret level using shootable switch
 • If player has walk/run/strafe momentum as he dies, that momentum is not lost
 • Teleporting enemies should now appear every time (with less delay)
 • Added an enemy blocking floorcode
 • Fixed some sounds blocking player death sound
 • Fixed bug with switches in rooms with 1x1 floorspace
 • Fixed modifications with title length 8 generated invalid savegame names
 • Pain Elemental attack and death routines reworked
 • Added secret walls that open with use key
 • Increased maps per episode limit to 60
 • Now possible to have multiple secret levels, or none at all
 • Added a map option to take away players equipment at level start (sets health to 100)
 • Episode 5 secret level is now accessible
 • Various stability improvements

The SDL version was announced as being in progress on November 20, 2010. Shortly after this, it was decided to curtail DOS availability, as Codetech84 felt it cluttered the engine. A parallel discussion was also started in terms of custom map making, as Klooni had already seen some custom map sets released. July 16, 2011 saw the first public release of the SDL port, dubbed v1.3 beta. Over the next few months, the beta was updated before the final stable release was released on March 17, 2012.
