Newmaps is a map set for shareware Wolfenstein. The map set dates to early June 1992 and was posted on the Wolfenstein 3D Dome by Brian Lowe on December 26, 2000. The authorship is unknown though the Read Me file is signed by "Friend".
Description[]
The set uses shareware Wolfenstein v1.0. It went through a number of fixes before its final update came out on June 6, 1992. The bug report stated:
- 06-01 Fixed the bug of level 7 elevator.
- 06-02 Level 8,9,10 non-treasure bug fixed.
- 06-04 Fixed the bug of level 3 elevator.
- 06-04 Fixed various disconnection problem on level 1.
- 06-04 Added difficulty to L8,9,10
- 06-04 Added the Elevator to level 10 (Is this wise?)
- 06-06 Added more difficulty to level 8,9,10
Level design is mainly large, typical of sets its age. The opening level is particularly difficult.
