SamWolf 3D is a mod for registered Wolfenstein, made by Sam Feichter. It was released on February 22, 2006 as a 10-level set, later expanded into a 30-level set finished in May 2006.

Description[]

After a few years out of the loop, Feichter returned with the announcement of this set on February 11, 2006. The final version of the mod includes 30 new maps spread across three episodes. Very much a classic type of set, some new graphics are featured, along with new music and a slew of coding changes.

The set was released one episode at a time. Naturally, each preceding episode is included in the subsequent releases.

Versions[]

On February 22, a 10-level version was released, which featured a changed music order and a different set of ceiling colors. This version did not feature a new title screen.

On March 30, Feichter released Episode 2, making the total of new levels 20. A new title screen was also featured, which stuck all the way to the final version as well. This release also included new graphics, some hitherto unseen in Wolfenstein 3D mods. Coding changes included different episode names, the addition of a heartbeat sound and the ammo limit increased. New music was also added, in addition to other small changes.

Starting with the 20-level version, difficulty names was also changed.

The final version, featuring 30 levels, featured two different VSWAP files. Both of them included new textures, but one of them included the original set of guards whereas the other one included guards being replaced with a host of different WSJ characters (mainly the Heer pack). Feichter had credited Majik Monkee's Image World in the attached Read Me. Other changes include new music, a new status bar and also attached with the download was a host of zip archives containing music from Hexen, DOOM, Spear of Destiny, Wolfenstein 3D (PC and Mac versions) and a set of miscellaneous tunes, both in MIDI as well as IMF.
