Spear of Destiny Reloaded

Spear of Destiny Reloaded (Simply known as Spear Reloaded or SoD Reloaded) is a mod for Spear of Destiny, made by KFH Games. It was released on January 31, 2010.

Version history[]

The mod was released both in DOS as well as SDL. The download featured both options all under one banner. v1.1 came out on June 18, 2010 and fixed some coding issues in addition to minor mapping bugs. A major update was then issued as v1.2 on March 10, 2012, which upgraded the SDL engine as a whole. One of the more striking features was the updated control settings, which enables the player to scroll through weapons using the mousewheel. A minor full-screen bug was then discovered and thwarted resulting in the final release, v1.21 on March 11, 2012. This remains the most recent version.

The mod is a self-contained executable.

Description[]

21 new levels are featured, and virtually all graphics have been changed. Moving on from Wolfenstein Reloaded, its status bar and some of its assets have been reused though virtually all of the graphics have been changed or altered. Quite an ambitious work, many guards were new, as were countless textures and objects and most importantly, the weapons. Among the new weapons are grenades which the player will have to load and release. Overall the mod conjures up an atmosphere all of its own, and with the addition of the player being able drag and move dead bodies and being able ride in a mine cart, it was one of two mods that rung in a new era for Wolfenstein 3D modding; this, together with Totenkopf SDL which came out three months later. Other notable changes include multiple textured floors and ceilings and the fact that some secret areas are not necessarily behind pushwalls.
